Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20 NIV)
How wonderful it is to know that God is out ahead of your thoughts and concerns and working for your good. As Christians we need to get out ahead of our woes and our challenges and live in the victory that is ours in Jesus Christ. In all the uncertainty that we live in, this we can be sure of. God is able to do more than all you ask or think. God has solutions to our problems, He has victory over our defeat, we just need to get in tune, with Him. If Scripture teaches us anything, it is that we must persevere in hope. I pray that you are disciplined in your faith in this area – persistence in seeking the Lord.
A few practical things:
Watch out for false news – there is plenty of it out there. Please be extra careful of forwarding messages on our WhatsApp Groups – send it to me first to fact check, then the Admins will post it, if it is valid. (You also need to remember that posting fake news is an offence and I will be prosecuted).
Make the move to digital – I know it is hard, but we have to reorder our lives around the digital platform. Make contact with the Office or a friend and get assistance with your Digital media, reallocate petrol money to data, make a point of getting online for worship and connection with the Church.
Reach out to each other – grow your circle of contacts -people are getting more and more lonely, everyone can commit to reaching out to others. We can’t publish everyone’s contact details but contact me and I can put you in touch with others.
Use the daily Prayers and meditations. Commit to reading and applying what you are learning.
Going Forward.
I am going to be providing fellowship opportunities, which we can slowly start to use.
This Tuesday I will meet with the COGS AWF, and the following Week with the St Mary’s ladies. I will make some one on one appointments where we can meet at a suitable venue. You are welcome to contact me to make an appointment. Baggies, Toti Beach or Seadoone, are good options to have meetings at. It is very limited but let’s start as we are ready to venture out.
Opening up the Church for participation in the Online services is something that we are working at possibly starting in September.
As more of society opens up so the risk of infection increases, and so we have to be cautious and sensible, every day we have to access the Risk and manage our lives accordingly.
Be assured of my prayers.
Rector.
