From The Rector's Desk

From the Rectors Desk, 26 February 2021, Church of the Good Shepherd Amanzimtoti

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

(James 1:3,4)

It is a great privilege to announce our Council for 2021:
Church Wardens: Mpume Mbambo and Gloria Drewing
Alternate Church Warden: Vuyi Nkosinphile Sibiya
Councillors: Norman Vowles, Joachim Alledahn, Sam Shishaba, Adeela Msomi, Revd Peta May, Rob May.

This is your leadership, and you are to uphold them in high esteem for the work that they have been called to. As we continue to build community moving through and beyond COVID 19, they have a challenging task in revising our Ministry Plan and ensuring that the community is equipped for acts of Righteousness.

We have assigned to each councillor a number of Parishioners for them to keep in contact with, to assist in communication. I encourage you to contact the councillor you are assigned to, with ideas, suggestions and needs.

Sunday worship and Wednesday worship will continue in person and I remind you that we not only need you to comply, but we need your assistance with logistics for services. The traditional Lay Minister duties have changed somewhat, and we need volunteers to do scripture readings and assist with the register and temperature taking and sanitizing.

Should anyone wish to share a Testimony of their experience of COVID, please let me know.

Be assured of my prayers as we continue to journey through Lent.

Love and Peace

Rector.
