Grace and Peace to you from God our Father and His Son Jesus Christ.
Today we commemorate the Transfiguration.
29And as He was praying, the appearance of His face changed, and His clothes became radiantly white. Peter and his companions were overcome by sleep, but when they awoke, they saw Jesus’ glory and the two men standing with Him (Luke 9: 29 and 32)
My prayer for you is that Christ will be illuminated in your life as you seek Him in the Word, through prayer and through your interaction with others, and may you too awaken to the Glory of God all around.
We will be having in person Services on Sunday, and I encourage you to attend, our ZOOM and Whatsapp services will continue simultaneously.
We have been working on our 2022 Budget and Recovery Plan. We thank God for all of you who have continued to give generously by way of tithing through EFT or envelopes. If you are not yet on our Dedicated Giving System, we encourage you to be good stewards of all that God has blessed you with and contribute to the financial well-being of the Church. One should also reconsider what time you are giving to the Church community. There is much to be done and there are many practical things that you could do in even as little as one hour a week. Due to the lockdowns and inactivity at the buildings, there is a lot of cleaning and fixing up that needs to be done. Why not consider tithing some time to that. Or develop a visiting or a phone ministry and text or phone a group of people from the Parish. Many people are very lonely, and this interaction would be beneficial to you both.
Moses, our Vergers house was burnt to the ground in an electrical fire. This is the house that he rebuilt after it was destroyed by the 2017 floods. Should anyone wish to donate anything to assist him to rebuild his life, please use “Moses” as the Deposit reference. Fortunately, he and his family were not in the house at the time, and they were unharmed. He needs to replace his clothes and furniture and utensils as well as the building.
I remind you that we have a vibrant online ministry which you can use to ensure an ever-deepening relationship with our God.
May God bless you as you seek the Lord your God and seek to grow in love with God and your neighbour.
Be assured of my love and prayers.
Fr Andrew.
