Christ the King. He Reigns!
Well, it is the end of the liturgical year. We made it. God be praised! We have much to be thankful for and need to call to mind and thank God for the things that He has done for us. It is also time to be reminded that, firstly we are His subjects, Christ is King and we are called to serve Him and live for Him. And secondly, if we are His subjects we ought to remember that this world is not our home. We are citizens of the Kingdom of God and ambassadors to the earth. All too often we get too caught up in the world and forget that Christ came into the world to draw us out of it, sanctify us and then send us back, with a new purpose, a new heart and a new mandate.
As we go into the New Year, may we be mindful of our status in the Kingdom, not just our circumstances on earth,
Advent also brings me to a “pilgrimage” as I go on a Sabbatical and holiday with my family. A time to reflect and revitalize my ministry and to receive restoration and redirection.
May God bless you all abundantly.
You will hear from me in the Pew bulletin each week, and we will see each other again in January 2019.
May God bless you and your families.
Rector.
