Collect for the week
O God, you reveal yourself in love:
pour into our hearts such love towards you,
that we, loving you in all things and above all things,
may obtain your promises,
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and ever.
AMEN.
Please be reminded to submit prayer requests on WhatsApp to
082 370 4702 0r 071 258 0366. Prayers will remain confidential (if you so wish) but it is critical that we pray into the lives of the people of God, which we can only do if we hear from you.
Lord God,
Your word assures us that you will lift up the lowly and the weak, and comfort the brokenhearted, we are weary, Lord and disheartened by the pressures of the worldwide response to the COVID19 pandemic, your people are hungry, your people are afraid and your people are frustrated; fill us with courage now that we who are filled with hope in your saving love can witness to the joy of knowing you and the peace that comes with living by faith. Hear our prayer merciful Lord, and save your people.
AMEN.
Prayer for those who are unable to receive routine health care due to hospitals being re-prioritized.
Prayers for use during the Coronavirus Outbreak
Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of Your mercy
in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may rejoice in Your comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us
from Your love in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen.
Lord Jesus Christ,
You taught us to love our neighbour,
and to care for those in need
as if we were caring for You.
In this time of anxiety, give us strength
to comfort the fearful, to tend the sick,
and to assure the isolated
of our love, and Your love,
for Your name’s sake.
Amen.
