This week we are going to complete the story of Noah. I am going to remind you of some of the important points.
In the story of Noah we see God’s special care of Noah. God saved Noah from being swept away in the flood. God told Noah to build an ark to save his family and take two of every animal into the ark.
This story of God’s protecting love is also a story of Noah’s faithful obedience. This story also teaches us that animal life and human life are equally important in God’s eyes because we are all God’s creation.
When the flood had subsided and the animals and Noah and his family were able to leave the Ark. God made a promise to Noah. The Covenant (promise) God made was that he would care for the whole of creation.
The sign of God’s Covenant with us is the rainbow we see in the sky.
“God is holding on to us. Our creator is also our Father. He invites us to live in a covenant with him, sustained by a love that will not let us go.”
This Week’s Challenge
This week’s craft is to build animals for Noah’s Ark. You can make cardboard cut-out animals, or use old milk containers, cereal boxes or toilet rolls to build animals.
A big thank you to the Sunday School members who made an Ark. It is not too late for those of you who have not completed your ark to finish them. A picture of the arks will appear on the church’s ”Facebook” page.
