FRIDAY, FIRST WEEK OF LENT
Priorities
Leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift. —Matthew 5:24
Perhaps more than any time in recent history, our society is being reminded that none of us is guaranteed a tomorrow. As we’ve watched the coronavirus death toll rise into the hundreds of thousands, it has gotten harder and harder to ignore this truth. We will regret lost time, if we don’t make use of our remaining time to reconcile with a family member we’ve been estranged from, or from someone else we had a falling out with? There is such a thing as “too late,” and Jesus suggests we keep our priorities straight and reach out to others when we still have the chance.
FOR ACTION:
Is there someone you need to reconcile yourself with? Make a plan to reach out to that person this week.
